Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar
The site was awarded to Bethesda Medical, which sent a monthly rental quote of $103,000, the third-highest bid cost after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
In August, Habyt Asia Pacific chief executive officer Jonathan Wong signalled that the firm was planning to include even more short-term living alternatives to its local listing. The first properties under the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both released in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept involve Habyt Cantonment and Owen Residence by Habyt.
Habyt has already launched a brand-new accomodation spot at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the flagship spot for the operator’s Habyt Flex design, that represents a strategic growing of the business’s product offerings beyond long-term co-living.
Wong says Habyt Kada at Maxwell represents the company’s commitment to redefining versatile living in Singapore and marks its change towards the next step of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room prices at Kada at Maxwell will start at $180 per night.
The versatile home lies throughout a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey building, designed by the architectural company Swan & Maclaren, was among the oldest modernist structures in Singapore. It was developed to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.
A public tender to rent the property, now managed by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was launched in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the quality of the proposed concept, and SLA encouraged prospective buyers to think about fresh way of living principles.
Kada at Maxwell will likely provide a series of openings, including en suite studios and two- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a fully set up kitchen space. Guests can book rooms on a nightly or every week basis, with a 12-month option additionally offered.
SLA cited Bethesda’s solid emphasis on community building and connecting people with businesses as what gave its approach the succeeding edge. The first level will feature 10 F&B offerings, while the 2nd floor will certainly house a gym by Limitless, a wellness centre in partnership with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working room. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the third floor.
“By mixing modern-day comforts with the ageless charm of a heritage building, we’re offering guests an unique lifestyle experience that exceeds conventional holiday accommodation,” includes Wong.
Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy unlimited and free access to the property’s health and wellness amenities, like the performance fitness center, cold plunge, infrared saunas, jacuzzis and foot baths.
